Today's Pictures

I took a few photographs this morning in the back yard just to practice with depth of field (DOF). Depth of field is how much of your photograph is in focus.

The picture below has a shallow depth of field as everything except the tree branch in front of the camera is out of focus.
I love this statute in my garden...it's really fun to photograph as well...a little creepy too, if you imagine that they might be Weeping Angels.

The photos below are from the practice sessions for the Red Bull Air Race, which takes place this weekend on the Detroit River, which separates Michigan and Canada. The pictures aren't the greatest, due to the cloudy skies and the large amount of smoke that the planes give off...but it was still fun to take pics.
